Sheet-pan pancakes? Breakfast pizzas? We've got plenty of easy brunch food recipes that will wow your family with something different. Now, who needs another mimosa?

Last summer, my friends wanted to come over and help me with my garden. I promised I’d make everyone a big breakfast beforehand, so I got to work on the menu. I knew right away that because of the day’s activities and everyone’s attire, zero-fuss easy brunch food would be on the menu. Nothing fancy, but it couldn’t feel like an afterthought. That’s how I’d describe these easy brunch food ideas: quick to prepare, impressive to look at and delicious to eat but distinctly not white-tablecloth-worthy.

So, what falls into the easy brunch food category, exactly? Breakfast bakes, like savory egg casseroles and sweet French toast casseroles, are some of our favorites. I love serving slightly elevated pancake recipes, so I either mix up the batter the night before and refrigerate it, or I make them sheet-tray style so I don’t have to stand over the stove. Dressed-up oatmeal is another crowd pleaser, with flavors like tiramisu and PB&J to bring it to life. Breakfast pizzas are unexpected, fun and really switch things up, but they are still casual and shareable with your crew.

We didn’t forget about your friends and family members with dietary restrictions; there are plenty of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and even vegan recipes here. When you’re serving brunch, I highly recommend leaning on as many overnight breakfast recipes as possible. Between cooking and setting the table, the morning flies and you still have to get ready! Add one or two make-ahead recipes to your menu, buy croissants from a local bakery and cook bacon in the oven (so much easier and less smelly)—that’s an easy brunch menu. If you’re looking for a more elegant brunch menu, though, check out our very best brunch recipes.

Easy Brunch Food FAQs

What easy recipes are best for a brunch menu?

Easy recipes that are best for a brunch menu are dishes that require little prep and no fancy cooking techniques. In other words, stick with the basics that make an impact. French toast casserole, egg bakes, fruit salads and a big batch of slow-cooker oatmeal with all the toppings laid out (so guests can pick and choose) are great recipes for a no-fuss brunch. When I’m really looking for something easy, I try to stick to slow-cooker breakfast recipes or anything that just bakes in the oven—nothing that requires standing over the stove.

Can brunch recipes be made ahead?

Yes, certain brunch recipes can be made ahead, although I wouldn’t suggest it for egg recipes, smoothies, smoothie bowls, bacon, sausage or toasts (like avocado or burrata toast). Those are best made fresh. Otherwise, recipes like breakfast casseroles, egg bakes, frittatas, cinnamon rolls, slow-cooker breakfasts, French toast, pancake batter, overnight oatmeal and fruit salads can be assembled the night before and baked the morning of.

What brunch dishes are kid-friendly?

Brunch dishes that are kid-friendly include cinnamon rolls, French toast, pancakes, waffles, toad-in-the-hole sandwiches and smoothies. If you want to get more creative, fun breakfast ideas for kids can be playful, colorful, full of flavor, and still really quick and easy. I love bunny cinnamon rolls, trendy princess toast, corn dog-like pancakes and sausage on a stick, and homemade strawberry pop tarts. Even the adults might want some of the latter!
