Throwback to 2016 with these four menu items that Taco Bell is dropping for its latest installment of the Decades Menu.

What were you doing in 2016? I had just moved to Chicago, I was taking improv classes, and I was working in a grocery store. 10 years later, I’ve swapped working in grocery stores to writing about them (and don’t worry, I’m also done with the improv).

Oh, and I was also eating a lot of Taco Bell. Specifically, the Beefy Crunch Burrito, which was back on menus for a limited time. That combination of ground beef, sour cream and Flamin’ Hot Fritos fueled me for the better part of a year.

So imagine how delighted I was to hear that Taco Bell is throwing it back to 2016 for the brand’s latest Decades Menu drop. Here’s everything that’s coming to restaurants and when you can expect it. Time to say “yes, and” to another Taco Bell run.

What Taco Bell menu items are returning?

To celebrate all that 2016 had to offer, four previously discontinued menu items will be back at Taco Bell. Obviously, my beloved Beefy Crunch Burrito is making a comeback. But there are other items joining the lineup as well, including:

  • Naked Chicken Chalupa: This is one of the best chicken inventions since the nugget. Instead of the classic chalupa shell, it uses a folded, fried chicken shell filled with all the taco fixings. It’s kind of like an inside-out taco, and it’s delicious.
  • Meximelt: Another fan-favorite item that we constantly demand Taco Bell put back on the menu. Sure, there’s a popular Reddit menu hack to make your own, but nothing beats the OG.
  • Caramel Apple Empanada: The nostalgic dessert fans have never stopped asking for is finally back. Taco Bell, if you’re listening, please make this a permanent addition!

When will they be available?

The 2016 Taco Bell Decades Menu will be available at participating Taco Bell locations nationwide beginning on Thursday, Aug. 20. But if you are a Taco Bell rewards member, you can actually get early access to the Beefy Crunch Burrito beginning on Aug. 18.

There’s no way to know how long these nostalgic items will be back on menus. If you’ve been craving any of these items, then head to your local Taco Bell location soon.
