Summer is probably the time of year when I hit up my favorite fast-food restaurants the most. I’m a big fan of road trips, and as any seasoned road tripper knows, time is everything once you’re in the car. I’m looking for fast, easy convenience above all else.
So after I fill up my tank at the closest gas station, it’s time for me to refuel, too. That’s why I end up stopping at Burger King, McDonald’s and Taco Bell a lot on my summer drives across the country. Naturally I got really excited when I heard that Taco Bell will soon be selling a new Mexican pizza flavor for the first time ever. I’m about to spend my long summer drives looking for that iconic logo.
What is the new Taco Bell Mexican pizza flavor?
You may remember that Taco Bell hosted a giant event called Live Más Live, where they teased new foods that would be available in 2026. It was an incredibly exciting moment for Taco Bell fans (me included) who have been impatiently awaiting each drop. And now we can celebrate: Cantina Chicken Mexican pizza is coming to menus soon.
If you like the Cantina Chicken menu, I guarantee you will love this take on the flavor profile. The Cantina Chicken Mexican pizza has slow-roasted chicken, black beans, green chile sauce, purple cabbage, pico de gallo and a three-cheese blend—all layered between crispy tortillas. Every photo I’ve seen of it so far has made my mouth water.
And that’s not all: Taco Bell is launching a brand-new jalapeno citrus salsa to accompany the new Mexican pizza. It consists of red jalapenos, guajillo chiles and citrus, which come together to create a brightly sweet and spicy sauce. This definitely confirms that the “swicy” trend isn’t going away anytime soon!
When will it be available?
Both the Cantina Chicken Mexican pizza and the jalapeno citrus salsa will be available at participating Taco Bell locations nationwide on May 21. But if you’re a Taco Bell Rewards member, you actually get special early access. If you order on the mobile app, you can try these new menu items on May 19 and 20 before they’re available to everyone else. It looks like this summer is going to be all about living más!
