There is one hotly-debated topic on my mind right now. I keep running into it at work, with my friends and on social media: When does fall start? Sure, technically the season begins with the autumnal equinox (in 2026, that’s on Sept. 22). But when should we start embracing fall decor and recipes? Some people say August, others want to wait until at least October.

I have a late September birthday, and while I always wish for crisp fall weather, it’s usually about 80 degrees and sunny. Not quite the fall vibes needed to sit in my big chair with a mug of tea and a brand-new candle. But considering that fall and winter are my favorite times of the year, I always yearn for the beginning of cozy season.

This new drop of cafe-inspired candles from Bath and Body Works is getting me even more excited for the first frost. Sure, I can (and do) light candles year-round, but there’s something extra magical about them in the fall. Here are three standouts from the collection that I think are worthy of adding to your cart.

What are the best new candles from Bath and Body Works?

Almond Croissant

I’m a sucker for anything almond-scented. My go-to hand lotion for years has been L’Occitane Amande hand cream. I’ll take any excuse to make my hair, body and home smell like a pastry, and that’s exactly what this Almond Croissant three-wick candle delivers. It has a bold scent reminiscent of freshly-baked marzipan, and will immediately transport you to a Parisian cafe. I don’t know if I’ve ever considered a candle to be delicious, but this one takes the cake—I mean, croissant!

Pink Matcha Latte

I never thought three of my favorite words could combine together so well in candle form. This Pink Matcha Latte three-wick candle is what I imagine Barbie lights around the DreamHouse. If you’re a fan of more delicately scented candles that don’t overpower your nose or your home, this has to be on your list. Genuinely, it’s kind of hard to describe the scent because it’s so dreamy. There’s a creaminess and a sweetness to it, and it might just become your new daily go-to as a quick way to freshen up the home.

Morning Tea

Per usual, I save the best for last. This Morning Tea three-wick candle might be a contender for my own personal candle Hall of Fame alongside the Otherland Boudoir Rouge and the Diptyque Paris City Candle. This Morning Tea scent is so stunning—it really smells like a freshly brewed cup of Earl Grey tea. There’s a hint of citrus and an underlying sweetness that makes it totally irresistible. It’s the kind of candle that you can burn year-round, and it makes a great host or housewarming gift.
