I’m someone who believes in lighting candles year-round. Sure, there’s an added coziness from their warm glow in the fall and winter months when the air outside is chilly. But mostly, I love candles for how they smell.

This might be one I stock up on so I can surround myself with its sweet, nostalgic scent all summer long: it’s Neapolitan Ice Cream.

Firstly, I need to point out that, no, the candle does not come in pink, brown and white. If it did, I might try to eat it. Rather, it’s a creamy white candle with a beautiful jar that has watercolor paintings around the outside. Looking at the exterior of the candle transported me to a sunny boardwalk.
This candle smells exactly like a pint of Neapolitan ice cream—it’s almost uncanny. According to the Bath & Body Works website, the fragrance notes are strawberry sauce, vanilla buttercream and milk chocolate. You can smell each of them separately and yet also blended somehow.
Taking the lid off this candle felt like I had opened a portal into my childhood. For a moment, all I thought of was sunshine and summer break. It sounds dramatic, but that’s how I felt!
