If the Cozy Earth Bamboo Blanket looks familiar, then you’re like many of us who remember cuddling up with a similar-looking blanket as youngsters. But our younger selves only wished that blanky was as soft as this one!
This blanket is not only soft to the touch, but also cool. That’s because the 100% premium bamboo fabric shell can regulate your temperature so you’re comfortable. In fact, this blanket also made our list for best summer blankets. Deputy Editor Katie Bandurski says that if you regularly go from chilly to warm and back again, this is the blanket for you.

If you’ve got kids and pets that might be sharing your blanket time, there’s some good news: The Bamboo Blanket is machine washable and dryable, too. Katie says hers washed up well during testing, although she did notice that it shed quite a bit of lint and took almost two hours to dry.
The blanket comes in five sizes—king, queen, twin, throw and even a baby size!—and in five colorways. It’s a bit of a splurge, but as Katie says, “I think it’s worthwhile if you’re going to use this blanket as your main covering in the summer (i.e., skipping a duvet/comforter).”
Size: Twin, Queen, King, Throw or Baby | Material: 100% premium bamboo viscose | Colors: Oat/Driftwood, Dove Grey/Charcoal, Sage/Olive, White, Pacific Blue/Navy | Care: Machine wash cold, normal dry; no fabric softener or bleach
Pros:
- Smooth texture with attractive fringe edge
- Washer and dryer friendly
- Comes in four colors
Cons:
- Only comes in one size
- Pricey
Some throw blankets are simply meant to be folded up and stored in a linen closet when nap time is over. Others are as attractive as they are warm and deserve to be draped over a couch or chair when not in use. The Bamboo Tassel Throw is in the latter category. The smooth, soft 100% bamboo viscose with a pretty tasseled edge comes in four shades to complement just about any color palette in your home.
Like many blankets in the Cozy Earth lineup, the Bamboo Tassel Throw is pricey, but tester Caitlyn Fitzpatrick says it’s worth it. After using it for months, she says it still looks good as new. “The soft, smooth texture is still there and the fringe detailing looks like the day I got it in the mail,” she explains.

Caitlyn has laundered around half a dozen times, too, and found that it washes up beautifully. “The 100% viscose from bamboo material is strong, yet soft. I haven’t had issues with pilling or otherwise a change in the fabric due to washing and drying,” she says.
While it’s not the thickest blanket on our list, the Bamboo Tassel Throw can still be your go-to blanket when the temperature drops. It’s even good to keep around when the temperature soars. Caitlyn says, “Since the bamboo has temperature-regulating properties, it’s comfortable to use during the warmer months, too. Even if it’s the dead of summer, I still like to cuddle up with a blanket when I’m watching a movie on the couch, so this blanket is ideal for that.”
Size: 50 x 60 inches | Material: 100% bamboo viscose | Colors: Dove Grey, Walnut, Pacific Blue, White | Care: Machine wash cold, normal dry; no fabric softener or bleach
Pros:
- Ultra-soft faux fur material
- Substantial weight allows for calming sleeping experience
- Available in two sizes
- Various textures and colors available
Cons:
- Pricey
- Standard throw size can be too small to share with a partner
- Cleaning is tricky
- Although it's not billed as a weighted blanket, it might still be too hefty for some
The Superplush Cuddle Blanket from Cozy Earth not only made our best blankets list but it’s also one of our favorite home decor pieces, too. Drape one over the couch or your favorite chair and you’ll know why—it’s truly as sumptuously soft as it looks. In fact, in her Cuddle Blanket review, Katie calls it “the softest, snuggliest fabric I’ve ever encountered.”

Katie notes that while the Superplush Cuddle isn’t a weighted blanket, it certainly has more heft than the average blanket, so do keep that in mind if you plan on gifting one to someone. “Cuddling with this blanket is no joke,” she says. “As someone who lives in Wisconsin, there are times in the winter when I would do anything to keep warm. And this blanket fits the bill. It’s oh-so-soft, weighted and warming—somehow without being smothering.”
And sure, this one is also pricey, but like other Cozy Earth blankets, it’s totally worth it. “If you want to give someone THE gift of warm, cozy luxury, this is a great option,” says Katie. “It is absolutely a splurge, but we find it does, in fact, live up to the hype.”
Size: 50 x 60 inches (medium) or 60 x 80 inches (large) | Material: 100% polyester | Colors: Walnut, Dove Grey, Creme, Espresso | Care: Machine wash cold, air dry; no detergent pods, fabric softener or bleach
Others We Tried
- Cozy Earth Bubble Cuddle Blanket: This is another version of the Cuddle Blanket that made our list of best faux fur blankets. It’s as dreamy as the Superplush Cuddle Blanket, but the “bubbles” give it a different texture and look. It also comes in two sizes and five colors.
What to Look for When Shopping for a Cozy Earth Blanket
Whether you’re new to the Cozy Earth universe or are looking for a new addition to your growing collection, Sarah Stephens, a member of the Cozy Earth public relations team, offers some advice on how to select a blanket that’s right for you.
The Cuddle Blanket Collection is a good place to start. “This is our best-selling blanket for a reason,” Stephens says. “People can’t get enough of them, and you can’t go wrong gifting one, either.” If you’d like one to layer over your bed, she suggests the Grid Matelasse Blanket.
Cozy Earth blankets are just the thing to reach for in winter, but that doesn’t mean you can’t cuddle up with one in the warmer months. For lighter coverage, Stephens suggests looking at the blankets made from 100% cotton or bamboo, like the Bamboo Blanket or the cotton Gauze Blanket. “However, you can’t go wrong with a Cuddle Blanket any time of year! It’s been over 100 in Utah for a month now, and we use our Cuddles every single day,” Stephens says.
If you live in a household with children or pets, it’s best to choose a Cozy Earth blanket that’s easy to launder at home. Stephens says the Cuddle Blanket Collection is quite family friendly. “[It’s] the perfect blanket for lounging/movies on the couch,” she says. She also suggests the cute and cozy Down Alternative throw, which looks great draped on kids’ beds or the couch. The Bamboo Blanket is another option that’s good for layering.
Cozy Earth blankets are a splurge, but we think they’re worth it for their soft, luxurious warmth. “The quality of fabric (cotton, wool, bamboo, etc.) we weave into our blankets comes from around the world,” says Stephens. “We also stand by our 10-year warranty to ensure you are getting only the best of the best, and our blankets will last forever if you take care of them.”
How We Found the Best Cozy Earth Blankets
Visiting the Cozy Earth website is enough to give us the warm fuzzies, but of course, we tried their most popular blankets for ourselves, too. We combed through customer reviews to find which ones were a hit with customers, then gave them a test run in our homes, which included a tumble in our own home washers and/or dryers. It’s hard work, but all those naps, movie night snuggles and sleeping in on weekend mornings paid off with this honest review of Cozy Earth blankets.

Stephens always recommends checking the individual blanket’s guidelines for care instructions, but for those that can be washed rather than spot cleaned, here are some general tips:

- Don’t use fabric softener or bleach
- Air dry the Cuddle Blankets
- For blankets that are dryer friendly, use the lowest setting
