Unlike many other faux fur blankets, the Lola Blanket is double-sided with plush faux fur on both sides for a consistent, cozy experience. It features a double hem for added durability and is made from vegan, cruelty-free, stain-resistant polyester that won’t shed. To top it off, each blanket is hand-dyed, so every piece is one of a kind.
How We Tested
The Original Lola Blanket XL arrived in a large box, neatly rolled and wrapped in protective plastic. I chose the popular Caramel N’ Cream color, listed as “a calming swirl of neutrals,” and it looks stunning draped across my cream-colored couch.
I unwrapped the blanket and used it immediately. To my surprise, there was virtually no chemical smell, which stood out as a real win after testing several other faux fur blankets. I was also impressed by the elastic banding, which gives the Lola Blanket its signature texture. I hadn’t expected it to be so stretchy, but it makes wrapping it around your shoulders feel effortless, without tugging or bunching. (Plus, if you’re sharing with a blanket hog, they can pull without totally ripping it off your legs.)
Still, nothing prepared me for just how buttery soft this blanket is. It’s incredibly plush. Even my 1-year-old couldn’t stop rubbing her hands and face in it, likely reminded of her favorite stuffed rabbit.
The XL size (80 x 90 inches) is massive. It spans nearly the entire length of my modular sectional and easily covers my family of three during movie night. Pair it with some snacks, and we’ve got top-tier movie-night vibes.
The only downside is washing. Technically, I can cram it into my front-loader, but it’s heavy, and I’m sure it’ll throw my sensitive, front-loading washer off balance. I might try a short wash cycle or even handwashing it in the tub. The bigger challenge will be drying the blanket. I plan to hang dry and then finish it off with a no-heat tumble.
That said, plenty of Lola Blankets reviews swear the blanket washes beautifully, especially in smaller sizes, and holds up over time with repeated washing and use.

The Comfrt Dreamer Blanket is another ultra-soft, plush blanket that’s very similar to both Lola Blankets and the Cozy Earth Cuddle Blanket featured below. In our testing, we found that the Dreamer shed a bit more than the Lola Blanket, but it also comes in at a more affordable price point, making it a solid choice if you’re looking for that luxe faux fur feel without spending quite as much.
The Dreamer is available in four sizes, all of which are larger than Lola’s offerings, though there’s no baby-size option. For me, that’s a notable drawback because my toddler absolutely loves her baby-size blanket. It’s lightweight enough for her to carry around on her own, unlike many larger, heavier blankets of the same style.
At the top end of the lineup, Comfrt offers a Mega size that measures a whooping 100 x 108 inches and weighs approximately 15 pounds. It’s enormous and significantly larger than Lola’s XL blanket, which measures 80 x 90 inches.
The Dreamer is made from 95% polyester and 5% spandex/elastane, the same fabric blend as Lola Blankets (with the same stretch), though it feels slightly heavier overall. The care instructions are also very similar. Machine wash the blanket separately in cold water. Comfrt recommends placing it in a mesh laundry bag, though you’d need an exceptionally large one for the Mega size, assuming it even fits in your washing machine to begin with. Hang it to dry, then gently shake and fluff it with your hands or a soft brush to restore its original texture. As with Lola Blankets, you should not bleach, iron or dry clean the Dreamer Blanket.
Lola Blankets vs. Cozy Earth Cuddle Blanket
We also tried—and loved!—the Cozy Earth Cuddle Blanket. We love the thick, luxurious feel of this ultra-soft faux fur blanket. It comes in a tote bag, so it’s perfect for gifting. While it’s also quite pricey for a throw blanket, as we learned with Lola, it’s worth the splurge.
Katie has been testing the oversized Cuddle Blanket in dove grey for the past six months. “Right out of the bag, I was genuinely shocked by how soft the fabric was. I joked to my husband that it felt like chinchilla fur—or like being enrobed in a giant Jellycat. It’s truly one of the softest things I’ve ever touched,” she says.
The Cuddle Blanket is made from high-quality, 100% polyester that looks and feels like it’s made to last. It comes backed with a 10-year warranty, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it lasted much longer than that. It’s got a weighted feel to it, though it’s not as heavy as an actual weighted blanket. Although it’s not as large as the Big Blanket, Katie says it’s plenty big enough for sharing.
The Cuddle Blanket comes in a variety of colors and textures and is available in two sizes: standard (60 x 50 inches) and oversized (80 x 60 inches). The oversized one is quite hefty, so it’s a bit tricky to wash. Katie won’t risk doing so in her front-load washer at home, adding that it might be better suited for a large machine at a laundromat. Perhaps this is just an issue of the oversized blanket, as Taste of Home’s Madi Koetting washed the standard Cuddle Blanket at home with no problem at all. Her solution? “Instead, I plan to treat the Cuddle Blanket similarly to an heirloom quilt. I’ll spot-treat any spills and do my best to keep it clean. For this reason, it may not be the best option for households with a lot of everyday messes.”

Lola Blankets vs. Minky Couture
Minky Couture wasn’t on my radar until I started digging into Lola Blankets for this review, but after a little research, the two brands seem pretty comparable at first glance. While I haven’t personally tested a Minky Couture blanket, here’s what I found.
Both the Lola Blanket and Minky Couture’s Hugs Blanket are made from polyester (Minky Couture blankets are 100% polyester and feature a similar faux fur texture with elastic ruching for a cozy, stretchy feel as Lola Blankets and Comfrt blankets). Minky Couture blankets come in five sizes, including a smaller travel size (36 x 60 inches). However, Lola’s XL size (80 x 90 inches) is noticeably larger than Minky’s biggest option, the Grande (60 x 84 inches).
The blankets are similar in terms of weight, though Lola Blankets tend to run a bit heavier (because they’re larger), making Minky Couture the lightest blanket option. Care instructions are to be expected: Wash alone in cold water with a mild detergent (no pods, fabric softeners or bleach) and either hang dry or tumble dry on a no-heat setting.
Lastly, Lola Blankets are advertised as stain-resistant and shed-free, something I didn’t see noted for Minky Couture or Comfrt blankets.
Final Verdict
It’s more than a year later, and I’m still loving my favorite fuzzy blanket! I’ve even converted a few family members to join the Lola club. I love it so much that I snagged a baby size for my kiddo and a large for the couch upstairs.
I’ll admit, I was skeptical about the Lola Blanket at first. The price had me hesitating. I mean, could a faux fur throw really be worth a few hundred bucks? But after trying it myself, I totally get it. It’s buttery soft and beautifully made, and the elastic stretch is one of those features I didn’t know I needed in a blanket until I experienced it.
The Lola Blanket looks just as good as it feels, too. The brand’s high-end designs, unique patterns and rich, hand-dyed colors are what set it apart from competitors. The only downside is figuring out how to air-dry the oversized version, but that’s standard for large, high-quality faux fur, which usually requires cold, gentle washing and no heat drying.
Truthfully, I still haven’t washed the Lola XL; we only pull it out for special movie nights to keep it in tip-top shape. Maybe that’s a bit over the top, but I’m trying to hold off on washing it as long as possible so it stays soft and fuzzy. But now that my little one has a blanket of her own, it gets washed regularly, and it’s held up well through multiple washes. I will say that the texture changes slightly after washing, but a fine-tooth comb or pet brush helps restore its plush feel. Just be sure to avoid using any heat.
