I think it’s safe to say that no gift will ever be adequate enough to express our love for our mothers. Between the sleepless nights of the early newborn days, the screaming matches in adolescence and the frustrating ups and downs of adulthood, mothers really are the MVPs. Their unconditional love and loyalty is what keeps the wheels of life in motion.
And perhaps your mother is like mine, and the best gift you could give her is simply having the whole family under one roof for as long as possible. My brother and I are in our mid-thirties and my mom, Gayle, still makes all of our favorite meals whenever we come home to visit.
My mom has been explicit that cooking is how she shows her love. I have to thank her for instilling this love of cooking in me, because now I make a living by writing about food. When I told her about my idea for making a guide to building curated baskets for all the foodie moms out there, she loved the idea and even offered to help!
Creating the Ultimate Mother’s Day Gift Basket

We spent a day compiling all of our favorite products into themed gift baskets. We wanted to really envision the person behind the theme, and think of what she would enjoy receiving as a gift. All of these items have been tested by Gayle, me or both of us, so we can guarantee their quality. Like any good gift guide, there are a range of prices and items included. From the Star Baker to Teatime Queen and everyone in between, please enjoy these Mother’s Day gift basket ideas for all the mothers in your life.
For the Star Baker
This mom has watched every season of Great British Baking Show and can spot an under-proved loaf a mile away. Her Christmas cookie exchange is legendary, and she’s always the first to volunteer to make family birthday cakes. It’s been decades since anything she’s made could be close to a “Pinterest fail.” She has a real knack for creative experimentation and expression in the kitchen. Walking into her home means you’ll be greeted by the delicious scent of baked goods. She’s been making sourdough since before it was cool and trendy.
- La Saison by Manon Lagreve: Manon is a Great British Baking Show alum who just dropped her third cookbook. It’s a great guide to seasonal cooking and baking in the French style and perfect for fans of the show.
- Sourdough Candle: On the rare occasions when she’s not making her own bread, she can light up this candle and trick everyone into thinking there is a loaf in the oven.
- Olivewood Bench Scraper: Every baker needs a good bench scraper—or three. This one is incredibly high quality and easy to clean. The olive wood handle is a really nice touch and will be a great addition to any kitchen aesthetic.
- Vanilla Coconut Sugar: She’ll love trying this elevated ingredient for her next bake. Coconut sugar is a 1:1 swap for cane sugar and adds a velvety sweetness to every treat. It’s also a great topper for lattes!
- Apple Pie a la Mode Sparkling Water: This new Waterloo sipper is a decadent bakery-inspired flavor that’s too sweet to pass up. All the flavor with none of the work will feel like a real treat for the Star Baker in your life.
- Le Creuset Signature Oval Bread Oven: This brand-new bread oven from Le Creuset is the perfect shape for all sorts of crusty loaves. Get it in her favorite color, since it’s also a gorgeous kitchen accent.

For the Major Mixologist
This mom has the best-stocked bar in town. She loves making classic recipes or experimenting with new ideas that she sees on Instagram. There are ice cubes in every shape in her freezer, and her glassware collection is totally enviable. Whether you want something super boozy or a fun mocktail, she has you covered. Even the simplest bevvy gets a fun garnish when she makes it. When you visit, you never go long without getting a drink slipped into your hand.
- Celebrity Cocktails by Brian Van Flandern: Full of beautiful photos and simple instructions, this book will have your mom asking guests for their favorite Old Hollywood star so she can whip up an inspired cocktail.
- Nectar Pop Candle: A candle that smells like a beautiful summer cocktail with notes of mango, coconut cream and chili salt is a great indoor/outdoor scent. It’ll put guests in the mood for a fun evening of drinks and conversation.
- Black Currant Finishing Sugar: She can use this for rimming glasses or dashing on top of a finished drink. Black currant was named Flavor of the Year by McCormick, so this is a great way to hop on the trend.
- Cucumber and Lime Soda: This is a nice, elevated mixer for vodka and gin cocktails, but can also be a refreshing nonalcoholic offering. It comes in a variety of flavors, but my favorite is the fresh and tart cucumber and lime.
- Spirit-Free Bitters Set: Elevate any mocktail with a dash of flavor from these nonalcoholic bitters. Citrus, floral and herbal flavors blend with anything from lemonade to soda water to make drinks taste truly curated.
- E-TERRA Sparkling Water Maker: Never run out of mixers again! This Sodastream has three carbonation levels for ultra-customized drinks. It makes a snazzy addition to her home bar setup.

For the Garden Maven
This mom loves spending time in her garden and eagerly awaits planting season. Catch her outside all spring long, getting her beds and planters ready for the year. Her garden shoes and gloves are the only things she allows to stay dirty, and she has lost count of the inspiration pics she’s saved to Pinterest. Fresh produce overflows on her kitchen counter and in her crisper drawer. This will be the year she finally figures out a way to keep the rabbits out of her vegetable patch.
- Kapusta by Alissa Timoshkina: This vegetable-forward cookbook celebrates Eastern European recipes. It includes chapters on pickling and fermenting as well, so mom can enjoy her garden harvest all year long.

- Liane de Tomate Candle: If the color green had a scent, it would be this candle. She can burn this anytime she wants the house to smell like it’s actually full of vibrant tomato plants.
- Peach Mango Refreshers: She’ll need a great sipper for hot days spent in the garden. This caffeine-free herbal tea blends into cold water, so there’s no need to put the kettle on. Just stir, sip, and enjoy!
- Carrot Charm Ultimate Hydration Body Cream: After scrubbing dirt off her hands, mom will want to make sure she keeps her skin hydrated. This is a gorgeous scent and has real lasting power without feeling too heavy or greasy.

For the Teatime Queen
This mom loves the relaxing ritual of brewing a pot of tea. She’s never one to miss a new season of Bridgerton and loves dainty treats and delicate bakes. Her idea of self-care is spending an afternoon with her feet up, reading a romance novel and sipping on a cuppa. Her phone will be on “do not disturb” for as long as she can manage, and the family pets will always find a way to cuddle with her. She loves quiet moments of reflection and simple daily routines that keep her grounded.
- The Official Bridgerton Cookbook by Regula Ysewijn: With a ton of Regency-inspired recipes, this cookbook will have your mom flipping through the pages as soon as she opens it. It’s full of beautiful photos and evokes everything she loves about her favorite Netflix series.
- Fresh Cut Roses Candle: Bring the garden inside with this fresh and romantic candle. A bouquet of real flowers will lose its scent over time, but this candle will keep that gorgeous scent around much longer.
- Passion Fruit Crème Truffle Thins: Nothing says indulgence quite like fancy chocolate. This flavor combination pairs bright passionfruit with dark chocolate for an irresistible bite.
- Darjeeling Earl Grey: Gayle drinks tea every single morning, and she hasn’t stopped raving about this teapigs Earl Grey since she tried it. She said that the flavor is incredibly deep and complex and pairs well with a splash of cream.
- Peach Tea: This is a brand-new product from the fruit juice and sparkling water giant, Spindrift. It’s not overly sweet, and it’s incredibly refreshing. The peach and green tea combo is perfect for sunny afternoons.
- Honeycomb Electric Kettle: I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a daily tea ritual. This beautiful electric kettle is a one-of-a-kind showstopper that will bring a smile to her face every time she uses it. Plus, mom will be able to hop on the floral kitchen trend.

And she always brings one heck of a host gift when she comes to your place.
