My favorite way to spend a Saturday? Scouring estate sales. I love hunting for vintage Christmas decor, quirky collectibles (hello, porch goose!), artwork and garden tools—all at a discount.

Like any thrifter, I have a few “holy grail” finds I hope to snag someday. At the top of my list is the Lenox Spice Village set. This collection of adorable house-shaped spice jars, quaintly nestled on a rack, is the epitome of #cottagecore decor.

Thanks to a recent revival, I don’t need to keep hunting. The brand brought back the iconic spice village—and it’s just as dreamy as the original.

Lenox Spice Village

Bring #cottagecore kitchen dreams to life with this quaint 24-piece spice house set.

What is the Lenox Spice Village?

First introduced in 1989, the Lenox Spice Village was a monthly subscription series. First, you received the rack. Then, each month thereafter, a little 3-inch porcelain house for storing spices like dill, rosemary, oregano and nutmeg. Each of the 24 spice houses is decorated in pastel hues and features botanical accents.

As the Lenox Spice Village 24-jar full collection grew in popularity, the brand also released larger storage canisters, salt and pepper shakers and even dinnerware. The series waned and was officially discontinued in the early ’90s.

In recent years, the Lenox Spice Village set has seen a resurgence on social media in kitschy “grand millennial” design circles. They’ve become so popular that complete sets are selling for thousands of dollars on secondhand sites. And Lenox took notice.

"We are so thrilled to announce the relaunch of our iconic spice village collection, which has been discontinued for nearly 35 years. The resurgence of nostalgic decor, which originally made spice village a social media sensation, has created the perfect moment to reintroduce this highly sought-after collectible. We can't wait for both longtime fans and new admirers to experience the magic and joy it brings once again!"
Jennifer DiBenedetti
Vice President of Marketing

The new version of the Lenox Spice Village is very similar to the original. Each of the 24 houses is hand-painted with sweet pastels and looks straight out of a fairytale. Plus, there’s no chance of mistaking cinnamon for cloves because each house is different.

How We Tested the Lenox Spice Village

As soon as I heard it was coming back, I placed a pre-order for the Lenox Spice Village full set in September 2024.

Pre-order and Shipping

At checkout, I was told that my Lenox spice jars collection wouldn’t arrive until May 2025. No biggie—I knew it would be worth the wait.

A few weeks later, I was pleasantly surprised to find out via email that my order was being bumped up to arrive in March 2025. Then, in mid-February, I got a shipping notification. After five months of waiting, my spice village was finally en route!

When it arrived, I immediately dug in. After opening the plain exterior shipping box, I was greeted with a cute themed box with a print of the houses around the edge. Inside, all 24 villages were cozily nestled in custom wrapping paper.

Unboxing and Style

One by one, I shed the wrapping materials to unveil each teeny-tiny house. And honestly? They were better than I expected. The quaint details! The color palette! The charm.

Each Lenox village set is unique—there are no duplicates—with primary hues of purple, blue, pink and gray. There are a few other shades that make an appearance, like a vibrant salmon on the saffron house and a natural green for tarragon, but they all complement each other beautifully.

I only found one flaw in my set: a tiny chip on the pepper house. But it was largely unnoticeable.

Each village house features a removable roof so you can add spices. The hole is pretty sizeable, which should make filling a breeze. Since there is no shaker-style lid, be careful when seasoning a dish, though. The contents will come out fast. You could also invest in some spice spoons for better accuracy.

Other Lenox Spice Village Products

If you want to add more Lenox to your life, you’re in luck: The Lenox Spice Village collection extends beyond the spice houses themselves. Here are some of our favorites:

Lenox Village Spice Rack

Lenox Spice Village Rack

One important thing to note is that the full set does not include a Lenox spice rack, but you can buy it separately—if you can catch it while it’s in stock, that is. The modern version is white with adorable painted pink-and green floral details—straying from the original set’s house-shaped rack style.

The rack dropped with a limited release in July 2025 and has been restocked a handful of times. Still, many collectors on social media are finding other creative ways to show off their village, such as using acrylic shelves or risers. Here’s a full breakdown of the Lenox Spice Village rack and alternative options.

Lenox Village Inspired Canisters

In July 2025, Lenox also released a limited stock of their spice village canister sets. This trio includes pink, purple and blue houses that are ideal for stashing cookies, baking ingredients, tea bags, coffee—you name it.

The vintage Lenox Spice Village canisters included labels on the front to designate what you’d find inside. But I find the new, unlabeled canisters are much more versatile.

Lenox blessed us with their latest spice village drop in August 2025: a gorgeous set of plates! Four houses in pink, purple, blue and salmon hues make tea parties a whole lot more fun. For easy cleanup, these charmers are also dishwasher- and microwave-safe.

Lenox Spice Village Pajamas

Need a gift for a Lenox Spice Village lover? I was pleasantly surprised when one of my favorite pajama brands, Printfresh, launched a spice village collab featuring PJs, a tote bag and a pouch set.

This whimsical pattern includes a cotton poplin fabric outlined with the iconic mini spice houses on a pink background. Other fun details, like measuring spoons, herbs, flowers and a whisk, are integrated into the pattern, too. A cheery blue-and-white striped trim finishes off each piece.

Lenox Spice Village Christmas Ornaments

In fall 2025, Lenox surprised us all with the cutest spice village Christmas collection featuring ornaments, serveware and even a holiday-themed spice jar set.

My favorite, though, is this 10-piece ornament collection modeled after some of the most iconic village homes. Measuring just under two inches high, they’re an adorable addition to your tree, as will the newest ornament for 2026.

Tea time, but make it whimsical. A handle and spout have been added to a Victorian-style Spice Village house you know and love to create one of the loveliest teapots we’ve ever seen. You’ll love steeping your favorite teas in the Village Tea Room, especially if you pour it into one of the Lenox Spice Village Mugs.

Lenox Spice Village Regional 3-Piece Spice Jar Set

As much as we think the main Lenox Spice Village is lovely on its own, we’ve fallen hard for this regional spin. Each trio of houses is meant to store spices popular to the locals in the Philadelphia Italian Market (Old Bay seasoning, Italian seasoning and everything bagel); the French Quarter (cajun, curry and creole seasonings), Santa Fe (Mexican blend, cumin and chili powder) and the West Coast (salmon spice, sea salt and lavender).

Lenox Spice Village

Pastel colors and hand-painted details make the Lenox Spice Village a collector's dream.

If you missed the initial pre-sale, Lenox occasionally restocks the village set. They sell out pretty quickly every time a new wave drops, so don’t wait if you see them in stock! The brand also continues to expand the spice village collection with new products, so keep an eye out for more charming finds.

And if you want the original Lenox spice village, keep an eye on the secondary resale market. It costs a pretty penny, but you can find vintage sets on Etsy, eBay or Facebook Marketplace.

FAQ

How much is the Lenox Spice Village worth?

Honestly? However much secondhand buyers are willing to pay for it. Even with the new launch, prices for the original set haven’t budged. A full set, including the rack, goes for anywhere between $800 and $2,000. Individual pieces cost less, averaging around $100 for just the rack to $70 per individual jar. Each price is, of course, set by the secondary seller, so prices might be higher or lower depending on where you shop.

Are other Lenox Spice Village products coming back?

Yes! In an FAQ email sent to email subscribers, Lenox confirmed the revival of other iconic pieces. Only time will tell exactly what pieces are coming back or if there will be any new additions. A trio of canisters has already dropped, and I’m crossing my fingers for the return of the salt and pepper set!
