The Most Snackable Cheddar Balls
“I spotted Lesser Evil Real Organic Cheddar Space Balls at Costco on a recent visit and couldn’t resist giving them a try, and I’m so happy I did! I’m already a big fan of Lesser Evil Himalayan Gold Organic Butter Popcorn, one of our resident dietitian’s picks for healthy Costco snacks, and my husband loves any kind of cheesy puff, so these were a win-win.
The Cheddar Space Balls are a great snack—almost too good (read: impossible to stop eating). The super light, crispy and airy corn puff snacks have a subtle but flavorful cheesy coating. They aren’t violently orange like other cheese balls, or overly salty or greasy. They’re just delicious. I can see sending kids off to school with these or packing them as snacks for a picnic or beach day. Like many Costco finds, they probably come and go at your local warehouse, but you can also find them at Whole Foods, Target and Walmart, or order them online.” —Lesley Balla, editor

The Crispiest Honey-Roasted Chickpeas
“A bag of honey-roasted chickpeas from Biena was sitting on the kitchen counter at my family’s lake house when I visited this summer. I automatically thought of honey-roasted peanuts and wondered if the coating on the chickpeas would be similar.
Turns out, I was right: They really do taste like honey-roasted peanuts. Of course, the crunch of roasted chickpeas is more airy and not as full-bodied. But since I snack on honey-roasted peanuts for the flavor, these chickpeas are a good healthy replacement, with 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving and fewer calories than nuts.
Crunchy snacks are one of the biggest food trends of 2026—I’ll definitely be picking up another bag of these crunchy chickpeas on my next Target run.” —Lauren Pahmeier, editor

The Perfect Fall Cookie
“I love cinnamon and I love a last-minute cookie, so when I saw Toll House was dropping a new Fall Cinnamon Sugar cookie dough with the cutest leaf-shaped sprinkles, I had to try it. The refrigerated dough bakes up into perfectly chewy cookies that make me think of snickerdoodles and fill the kitchen with a warm cinnamon-sugar smell. I first made two cookies for an afternoon treat, then put the rest back in the fridge to bake later (which ended up being the next morning!).” —Rachel Vigoda, deputy editor

Veggie Snacks with Just Enough Salt
“When I’m feeling snacky, I usually reach for something salty and crunchy. So the gigantic green bag of Harvest Snacks at Costco immediately caught my eye. I could practically feel how crispy they were through the packaging. When I spotted the protein and fiber callout on the label, this bag was officially in my cart.
They look a little bit like tempura green beans and have a similar light, airy texture, but they’re much crispier. Like, so shatteringly crisp that I have to turn up the TV to hear over my chomping. They’re savory and salty enough to satisfy straight out of the bag, but I’ve also dipped them in hummus and creamy yogurt dips. I once tossed them onto a salad instead of croutons. Admittedly, they were a little tricky to spear with a fork, but the swap totally worked.” —Lindsay Mattison, senior editor

The Creamiest Dip with a Kick
“I almost never buy store-bought dips. They’re just too easy to make at home, and most of them never taste quite as good as a fresh batch. This spicy tzatziki dip from Good Foods changed my mind in a big way. I’ve always loved tzatziki (my lifelong search for the perfect gyro is still going strong), so I had a feeling I’d like it, but the added heat is what really won me over. The jalapenos and Serranos give it just enough kick to make a classic dip feel new and special.
I’ve been putting it on everything from sandwiches and grilled chicken to roasted potatoes and, of course, eating it straight out of the tub with pita chips and fresh veggies. I’ve seen it at Target, but it’s worth checking the refrigerated section anywhere Good Foods products are sold.” —Lindsay Parrill, writer

Buttery (But Vegan!) Dill Pickle Popcorn
“I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this product from Cheerie Lane at the Summer Fancy Food Show this year. Never had I before seen a corn on the cob-shaped cluster of corn kernels held together with cacao butter, promising me that it’ll, somehow, turn into a bowl of really great popcorn. I was skeptical. Stovetop popcorn always feels like a little too much work for the reward, and doesn’t all popcorn taste the same before you season it?
But Cheerie Lane’s solution to bagged popcorn still keeps the method easy, even for the stovetop (although they do have a microwavable popper you can use instead, made with tempered glass). What really got me was the quality difference, though. Was it the heirloom corn kernels from their family farm in Iowa? Or was it the cacao butter that doesn’t leave a coating of plastic-y grease on my tongue like some other popcorn? It’s both—and it’s carried me through the 3 p.m. slump and brought joy to my movie night get-togethers. My favorite is the dill pickle flavor.” —Val Goodrich, food writer
