Hydration has always been important to me, but Stanley water bottles have made me obsessive about it. Well, to be fair, they’ve made many of us on the Taste of Home team obsessive about it. In fact, if we were to tally up all our Stanley products, we’d be able to open up our own pop-up shop.
I’ve had two Stanley Quencher Tumblers of my own in near-constant rotation for a couple of years now. While the internet’s favorite size is the 40-ounce, I opted for the 30-ounce. I appreciate the smaller size, so when I decided it was time to grow my Stanley collection, I turned to the new, even more compact 20-ounce Stanley Flowstate Spring Bottle.
I love the design of this new bottle so much that I’ve given my tumbler pair a break for a bit. I’m sure I’ll return to them eventually, but for now, let me tell you why this newest Stanley offering is helping me hit my hydration goals every day.

Why I’m Obsessed with the Stanley Flowstate Spring Bottle
Longtime Stanley fans are well aware of how easy it is to amass a collection of the brand’s viral stainless-steel tumblers and mugs. But if you’re new to the Stanley brand or—gasp!—believe that a single Stanley cup is suitable for your hydration needs, let me explain why the Flowstate Spring Bottle is the new must-have.
Slimmer Design
Stanley tumblers like to make their presence known, thanks to their hefty capacity and tall silhouette made even taller by a protruding straw. The Flowstate Spring is also a tall bottle made from the brand’s signature recycled materials, but it has a slimmer profile that tapers at the top. I’ll admit that it was odd at first to grip the bottle itself rather than a handle, but it feels good in my hand. And at just 20 ounces, I don’t feel like I’m getting an arm workout just to take a sip of water.
Ice-Cold, Leakproof Hydration
The Stanley Flowstate tumbler has a leakproof spout with an internal straw and locking lid for a hygienic hydration experience. It’s not just leakproof in theory, either. I tested it: I inverted the bottle and shook it like mad, expecting a little drip of water to come out, but nope. All I heard was the rattling of ice cubes—the same ones I had put in the day before. Yes, this bottle stays cold for 10 hours on its own but up to a whopping 35 hours with ice. Pro tip: Always fill the bottle with liquid before putting cubes or else you won’t be able to get the straw in—that’s how cold the interior of the Stanley gets!
Easy to Carry
As much as I love the 30-ounce Quencher, it’s just too heavy to take on a walk in the park. The Flowstate, on the other hand, is perfect for travel—and not just because it slips into a car cup holder so easily. It also has a grab-and-go loop, perfect for carrying on a walk or a commute, or you can simply slide it into a bag without fear of the top popping open.
Despite all the places I can take my Stanley, it mostly stays on a coaster on my desk during the workday. As clumsy as I am, I’ve never knocked it over once. If and when that day arrives, I know the stainless-steel construction will make more of a racket than a splash.
Even Easier to Clean
Stanley bottles are easy enough to clean with some soap and water, but I pop mine into the dishwasher—another reason I like to have a few in rotation! The locking flip-top cap unscrews from the bottle, the straw pulls out and it all goes in the dishwasher for the easiest cleanup ever.
So. Many. Colors.
Stanley’s colors and brand collabs uplevel the cups and tumblers from convenience to must-have accessory. While there are always new fun patterns and colors to choose from, I love that the brand keeps many core colors in rotation so customers can match or complement their collection as it grows. (If you’re wondering, my Flowstate Spring bottle is in cream, and it goes rather nicely with my Quencher tumblers in rose quartz and soft orchid.)
And I’m Not Alone in My Obsession
Granted, it’s not like I have to look far and wide to find Stanley fans. But old habits die hard when it comes to favorite products, and I wasn’t sure how the new Flowstate Spring Bottle would stack up to the uber-popular Quencher. Spoiler alert: Stanley’s got another hit product on its hands.
