I used to think my 30-ounce Stanley tumbler was the be-all and end-all of my hydration journey. Sure, it’s not quite as large as the 40-ounce version that became a literal thirst trap on social media, but I prefer the more compact profile.
Then I met the new 20-ounce Flowstate Spring Bottle and became enamored by its even slimmer silhouette. What can I say? I have small hands and am known to knock things over, so less liquid is always a better decision for me.
So when Stanley introduced an even more petite new arrival, the Clutch Bottle, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it—quite literally. You see, even though Stanley cups can travel—think leakproof lids and bottoms that fit easily into car cupholders—I’ve always left mine at home because I don’t want the added arm workout, especially when I’m walking in the park. But now that I’ve got the super-portable Clutch in my hands, it’s my favorite walking companion (aside from my husband).

Why I Love the Stanley Clutch Bottle
The Clutch has a very different look from the tumblers and other round cups Stanley fans are used to. Its 16-ounce stainless steel body features an oval shape that’s easy to grip and, while double-wall vacuum insulation keep liquids cold for hours.
The tethered cap twists off so you can drink directly from the cup. The bottom features a soft footpad that I don’t mind leaving on my desk during the day. At first, I thought the slim profile would make it a spill hazard, but so far so good with my butter fingers.
But here’s where the bottle really comes in, well, clutch. There’s a faux leather wrist strap that clips to the cap, allowing the bottle to hang vertically from your bag, hand or wrist. Or, clip one end to the cap and the other to the bottom to wear it horizontally like a cute purse. If you’re a fan of Troop Beverly Hills, then you’ll understand that I could totally see any of those chic girls toting this along as their water source to the Wilderness Jamboree! Beyond wearing it on walks, I also clip my Clutch from my Peloton handlebars during rides.
Do I miss a straw? No. I like sipping directly from the smaller mouth—I’ve always given myself a bath with large-mouthed bottles—plus I appreciate having less to clean. Far less to clean, actually, since the bottle and lid are both dishwasher-safe—just remember to unclip the wrist strap first.
