Of course he's got a sweet tooth!
If anyone has cause to party all week long, it’s Michael B. Jordan. Winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his outstanding performance—or should I say performances, plural—in Sinners, has to be a career high for him. He started with television shows like Friday Night Lights, took a detour through the Rocky Balboa Cinematic Universe in the Creed franchise and then ended up on the Oscar’s stage with a standing ovation. Truly, what a sweet journey.
And speaking of sweet, I can only imagine him wanting to celebrate with all of his favorite foods. Michael B. Jordan’s favorite dessert is deceptively simple and absolutely delicious. He even tells us exactly what restaurant you can get it at!

In an interview with Oprah Magazine, he lists out his favorite things. He loves a leather bomber jacket, anime and taking long drives in the summer. And then he mentions that his favorite indulgence is a particular dessert from the high-end steakhouse restaurant, Mastro’s. The chain has a butter cake on the menu, served warm with a scoop of ice cream. “I want it, I need it. It is everything,” he said.
I found a photo of the butter cake on Mastro’s Instagram account, and I have to say that I agree with him: I want it, and I need it. This kind of cake is simple yet decadent. The ice cream is a great pairing, since it gives it a touch of sweetness without overpowering the buttery flavor of the cake.
It bums me out that I am not an actor who can frequent the luxurious—and expensive—steakhouse to indulge in this treat. But I was reminded of another, more affordable restaurant chain that offers its own butter cake: California Pizza Kitchen. In high school, my best friend and I used to go to our local CPK every other Friday and split the butter cake.
