The KitchenAid stand mixer is about as iconic as kitchen appliances can get. When I was getting married, it wasn’t a question of whether to put one on our wedding registry; it was a question of which color to choose. (I opted for it in Caviar, a shiny black, in case you’re wondering.)
Don’t tell my beloved mixer, but I’m now coveting KitchenAid’s new Artisan Plus Stand Mixer that just launched. It’s the brand’s first upgrade to the tried-and-true tilt-head mixer in 70 years! This is a big deal.
KitchenAid Artisan Plus
The classic tilt-head stand mixer gets its first major upgrade, and it's packed with smart features.
What is the KitchenAid Artisan Plus?
Home chefs and bakers, rejoice! The KitchenAid Artisan Plus marks the brand’s most significant upgrade to its iconic 5-quart tilt-head stand mixer in decades. This glow up offers improved precision, speed control and visibility for your cooking and baking needs.
If you’re looking to replace your current mixer, or you were waiting for the perfect time to add a stand mixer to your kitchen lineup, now’s the time. Here’s what sets the Artisan Plus apart:
Speed Settings
The Artisan Plus offers smoother controls, so you can easily dial in to precise settings for ideal ingredient texture. We’re especially intrigued by its expanded speed range, especially the soft start, which slowly mixes ingredients before increasing speed to minimize splatter. Then there’s the half-fold speed setting, which makes it easier to combine delicate batters without overmixing. In addition to the precision speed options, there are also 11 presets that make it a cinch to cream, whip, knead and more.
LED Bowl Light
Also notable with this upgrade is the first-ever built-in LED bowl light, which provides greater visibility for measuring and mixing ingredients. We also like that the single flex edge beater has been replaced with a double flex edge, which scrapes the bowl continuously, so you don’t have to stop the machine to do it yourself.
Attachments
The mixer is compatible with other attachments in the KitchenAid ecosystem, including the pasta maker, meat grinder and ice cream maker. We also love that the stainless steel accessories—including the bowl—are dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup.
Colorways
Now, let’s talk color choices! In addition to existing colors like Matte Black and Porcelain White, the new KitchenAid Artisan Plus comes in exclusive new hues like Sundried Tomato, Wild Blueberry and Iron Ore Bronze. There are also three more colorways found only at Crate & Barrel: Oat, Mint Julep and Steel Blue. Decisions, decisions!
Psst! Speaking of KitchenAid hues, did you see the 2026 color of the year?
