One of BruMate’s biggest claims to fame is its vacuum double-wall stainless steel insulation, and the Togosa is no exception. As long as your wine or cocktail starts out cold, it’ll stay that way for hours. Yes, without a single ice cube.
That means no watered-down sangria, no diluted cocktails and no need to mess with refilling an ice bucket. Whether you’re relaxing poolside or parked on the patio all afternoon, your drinks should stay refreshingly cold to the last pour.
That said, for cocktails or mocktails, I usually toss in a handful of ice because I like my drinks icy. It’s also worth noting that, like any insulated drinkware, the Togosa’s cooling performance will decrease in extreme heat. Leave it baking in direct sun long enough, and it won’t stay cold as long as it would in the shade or indoors.
Functionality: A Sangria Lover’s Dream
The Togosa’s clever two-in-one design includes a leakproof pitcher with a built-in strainer (in addition to the chiller, of course).
This means it’s truly a sangria lover’s dream. Cleaning and Care
BruMate says the Togosa is top-rack dishwasher safe, but in reality, it’s too tall and bulky to fit in my dishwasher’s top rack. I usually hand-wash the stainless-steel body and toss the lid components into the dishwasher instead.
Cleanup has been easy, even after sticky cocktail syrups or fruit-filled sangria. And while I originally bought it with wine in mind, I’ve ended up using it just as often for infused water and big batches of iced tea on hot days.
My only gripe so far? BruMate doesn’t recommend using the straining lid with carbonated beverages. Call me a rebel, but I’ve experimented using the strainer lid with sparkling drinks without any problems. But technically, that’s outside the intended use. It’s a small limitation, though one worth noting if you’re planning to frequently make large batches of bubbly beverages and use the straining lid at the same time.
Overall, though, the BruMate Togosa delivers as a stylish, multitasking entertaining essential, one that has proven to make warm-weather hosting a bit more blissful.
