This is my candy version of the classic strawberry pretzel dessert. It uses ruby chocolate, which is fairly new on the market. If you can't find it, you can substitute white chocolate in its place. —James Schend, Dairy Freed

Strawberry Bark Tips

Can you melt chocolate in the microwave instead of with a double boiler?

You can, and here's how: Melt pieces of chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl at 70% power for 1 minute. Remove and stir the chocolate. Repeat the process in 30-second increments until the chocolate is melted.

What else can you top this strawberry bark with?

You can add a bit of dark chocolate by sprinkling chips on top (these are the best chocolate chips). Or go for a drizzle by melting dark chocolate first. We love a chocolate-strawberry dessert.

How long will chocolate bark last for?

You can keep this pretzel strawberry bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. To freeze, store it in a zip-top freezer bag for up to three months.

Line a 15x10x1-in. pan with parchment; set aside.

In a double boiler or metal bowl over barely simmering water, melt chocolate until two-thirds of the pieces are melted. Remove from heat; stir until smooth. Stir in 1 cup pretzels. Spread into prepared pan; top with strawberries and remaining pretzels (pan will not be full). Refrigerate until firm, 15-20 minutes. Break or cut into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
