Look for carob chips in your local health food store. If you can't find them there, you can always order them online.How can you serve carob peanut butter cups?
Chocolate contains caffeine and theobromine—which both can be toxic for dogs. Carob, however, does not contain these ingredients, so these carob peanut butter cups are the perfect treat to be shared with your pup! To be extra careful, though, double check that the peanut butter you use doesn't have artificial sweeteners, salt and sugar if possible—which can also be toxic. Otherwise, you can enjoy carob peanut butter cups as an alternative to regular peanut butter cups with chocolate. Carob peanut butter cups will last up to 1 month (if your dog doesn't eat them before then!). Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer. Ingredients
- 1 cup carob chips, divided
- 3 teaspoons coconut oil, divided
- 1/3 cup all-natural creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon honey, optional

1Combine 1/2 cup carob chips and 1 teaspoon coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 30 seconds; stir. Microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, until carob is melted and smooth, about 1 minute longer. Carob should not exceed 90°. Spoon teaspoons of carob mixture into silicone molds or foil-lined mini muffin cups; press spoon into center of each cup so mixture coats the sides of liners about halfway up. Freeze until set.

2Combine peanut butter, 1 teaspoon coconut oil and if using, honey, in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 30 seconds; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. Drop 2 teaspoons of peanut butter mixture over carob. Freeze until set.

3Melt remaining 1/2 cup carob chips and 1 teaspoon coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds. Spoon mixture by teaspoonfuls over the set peanut butter mixture. Freeze until set. Store in refrigerator.
