Be the hero of the parking lot with these slow-cooker tailgate recipes. Full bellies and warm bones are a must on those fall game days!

I live in Philly, so I totally get the tailgate hype. Eagles tailgating is a thing here! But when it’s chilly outside, cold dishes just aren’t going to cut it, and slow-cooker tailgate recipes become a necessity. Warm, cozy food simmering away in a slow cooker is like a beacon of light when you’re in the middle of a parking lot. Trust.

These recipes feed a crowd while staying warm for the entire game. Above all, they’re filling—a must after having a few beverages—and toe that perfect line between casual, shareable, familiar and delicious. Think homemade mac and cheese, hearty chili with cornbread, saucy chicken wings and hot tailgate dips loaded with toppings. The slow cooker is also fantastic for keeping tailgate sandwiches warm. Make a big batch of pulled pork or meatballs, keep them in the slow cooker, and have Hawaiian rolls nearby for self-serve sliders.

My favorite tailgate hack is a back-pocket secret: slow-cooker dessertsSurprise everyone with a tailgate dessert like slow-cooker cinnamon roll pudding, bananas Foster or chocolate lava cake (my personal fave). It’s a comfort if your team loses, or a celebration treat when they win.
