Several years ago, I took a class on cheese and charcuterie board assembly with Marissa Mullen, the author of That Cheese Plate Will Change Your Life. I diligently folded salami and sliced cheese and arranged herbs, and I beamed at the beautiful board I’d created. I left the tutorial with grandiose visions of crafting similar ones again and again for friends and family alike.
Since that time, I’ve made one, maybe two. And this is the case for several reasons. Remarkable, jam-packed charcuterie and cheese boards are incredibly expensive to make, not to mention labor-intensive. They also require a knowledge of cheese varieties and flavor pairings that I simply do not have.
I resigned myself to the fact that fancy charcuterie boards just weren’t going to happen at home. They would be a restaurant treat and a restaurant treat alone. Then I heard about Boarderie—my snack-board saving grace.
Boarderie Classic Cheese and Charcuterie Board
Each ready-to-eat board is prepared the day before your chosen delivery date and shipped overnight.
What is Boarderie?
A quarantine brainchild of two Florida-based caterers, Boarderie proudly produces and ships restaurant-quality charcuterie and cheese boards across the country. Since the company’s inception in 2020, Boarderie has been featured on Shark Tank and selected as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things.
Each order includes free overnight shipping and arrives chilled. The reusable wooden boards are loaded with trays that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. And each tray is meticulously filled with an assortment of cheeses, nuts, candies, meats, spreads, olives and dried fruits that have already been sliced and arranged. Additionally, the shipment comes with boxes of crackers, bamboo cutlery and a diagram of the board’s toppings.
Finally, a product to fill the hole in my charcuterie board-loving heart! Having a fully crafted and exquisite board sent to my home was much easier than blindly picking out ingredients and trying to assemble them in a way that would impress my guests.
Boarderie Options
I’m not exaggerating when I say there’s a Boarderie board for every occasion. The site is full of different flavor combos and pairings, ensuring you can find charcuterie to fit any gathering.
Celebrating a birthday? Try the birthday board, complete with a cheese cutout in the recipient’s age. Need a gift for someone going through a hard time? The sympathy board includes plenty of eats for when they don’t feel like cooking a full meal, along with heartfelt touches like a dove cutout. You can even find a lover’s board, which is perfect for anniversary or engagement celebrations, complete with the happy couple’s initials. We’ll toast to that!
Beyond evergreen occasions, Boarderie also offers a ton of holiday boards, with availability varying by season.
If you’re looking to balance out your savory selections with something sweet, you’re in luck: Boarderie now offers dessert options. The classic dessert board features artisan chocolates and truffles, macarons, brownies, cakes, toffee and other confections, all of which arrive in gold boxes atop a reusable acacia board. Perhaps the best part of all is the chocolate box you can smash (with the included wooden hammer) for another sweet surprise.
While the classic dessert board is certainly festive enough for any occasion, Boarderie also offers themed dessert options, with the top of the chocolate box designed for special occasions. The same is true for the I Love You dessert board and the Thank You dessert board, which are truly sweet ways to show your love and gratitude.
And although we’d be happy to enjoy one of these dessert boards on its own, it will make a wonderful complement to a savory board, too.
How We Reviewed Boarderie
I initially tested Boarderie in 2023. The exact board I tested has since been discontinued. Deputy Shopping Editor Katie Bandurski re-tested the service in 2026 to ensure it still lives up to the hype. She tried the classic large cheese and charcuterie board.
Packaging and Delivery

My Boarderie board arrived with overnight shipping in a large box. The board was well-protected in plastic wrap and came with plenty of ice packs to keep it cool.
I lifted it out of the box and was amazed at just how ready-to-serve it looked. All the cheese was cut, the meat was artfully arranged, and all the little accouterments, like nuts and candies, were nestled in their own protective plastic bags to prevent them from going soggy. A separate portion of the box housed three boxes of crackers.
My board also came with literature detailing what every element is and where you can find it on the board.
Assembly

To assemble the board (if you can even call it assembling), all I had to do was simply unwrap the individual trays and re-situate them on the serving board. This compartmentalization of the board’s toppings made setup easy and clarified which accouterments were to be paired together.
I’ll spare you a list of all 35—yes, 35!—ingredients on my large board and just hit the highlights. There were 13 cheeses, including classics like creamy, aged Gouda and blueberry-vanilla goat cheese, as well as some more out-there varieties like wasabi horseradish cheddar and Merlot Pecorino. Four types of charcuterie made an appearance, as well as 18 (yes, 18!) accompaniments. The dried mango slices, tangerine and chili marinated green olives, and candied butter pecans all made a lasting impression.
Is your mouth watering yet? And each board, big and small, boasts a similarly masterful assortment of hand-selected artisan munchies.
Overall Impressions

I’m a known charcuterie fanatic, so it wouldn’t take a lot for me to love this board. And yet, it offered a lot anyway.
The simple setup is enough to splurge on the board. Although some items needed a bit of zhuzhing after being unwrapped, it took me less than 10 minutes to take the board from plastic-wrapped to ready-to-serve. And it’s not as though the board was just passable; it was downright stunning. All the boards available on the Boarderie website are a gorgeous blend of textures and colors that engage the senses.
The board I tried was aromatic and easy on the eyes, sure, but it needed to deliver on taste, too. And that it did. The contents were obviously high quality. Also, they were novel enough to make the board really stand out from the ones you’d find at a market,
Katie was equally impressed when she tried the service in 2026. “I enjoyed my Boarderie board with family, and wow was it a hit,” she explains. “As a hostess, there’s nothing worse than spending hours in the kitchen while your guests converse without you. Instead of slicing cheese, cutting fruit and assembling a cheese board during the party, Boarderie eliminated my prep completely. I simply had to unwrap, and it was ready to serve.”

“As for the cheese itself, all I can say is WOW. I loved that this board has something for everyone—sweet, spicy, funky. The cheeses managed to have a wide crowd appeal while still being special. I was also shocked at just how great the other ingredients were. With most boards, I tend to pick around the fruits and nuts to focus on the cheese, but the Boarderie options are impossible to miss. The dried fruit was genuinely juicy. (I’m still thinking about the tangerine and mango slices). While the nuts were packed with various flavors, from sweet to savory. Even the olives were a 10/10.”
Katie definitely plans to order Boarderie again, noting its wide appeal and ease of setup. “I’m eager to order for my next book club or family gathering,” she explains. “I love that they offer so many great holiday options, too, for a little extra flair.” She’s also confident Boarderie makes a great gift. “Next time a loved one gets engaged or needs a pick-me-up, this is the food gift I’m sending,” she says. “After all, who wouldn’t be excited for a giant box of cheese to show up on their doorstep?”

Boarderie vs. Platterful

Like Boarderie, Platterful is a charcuterie-focused gift. However, unlike Boarderie, this snack subscription delivers monthly. Choose from either a regular or large box, which contains spreads, meats, cheeses, crackers and other accouterments.
While Platterful kits come with instructions and step-by-steps to help assemble your board, they don’t arrive premade. You’ll also need to bring your own board.
What Other Boarderie Reviews Have to Say
Tons of other people are on board with Boarderie, too—including several Taste of Home staffers.
Content Director Nicole Doster celebrated her birthday with a cheese board and would gladly add it to her guest list again. “I was absolutely blown away,” she says. “The box arrived in perfect condition with over a dozen meats, cheeses and extra nibbles; it practically looked like a piece of art. In addition to the high-quality ingredients, the board came complete with mini wooden tongs and cheese knives, which made it party-ready in minutes. I’d highly recommend this.”
And staff writer Marisa Hillman is so impressed with Boarderie that it has become one of her go-to gifts. “The birthday and sympathy boards have become my default gifts,” she says. “Flowers and trinkets can sometimes feel overwhelming. But a fresh and beautiful Boarderie board is always well received.”
Final Verdict
Although the price tag is high, an individual certainly couldn’t craft a board with as much quality and variety—and with as little food waste—for cheaper. So if you have an upcoming special occasion that calls for a memorable cheese gift, consider a Boarderie board.
And speaking of occasions on which to eat one of these masterpieces… I’d recommend an intimate happy hour or a small dinner party. My favorite part of the Boarderie board was the experiential aspect. A few friends and I had a lovely time huddling around the board, trying each item, discussing the flavors, swapping opinions and sipping wine intermittently. It was such fun to consume the board with as much intention as it was created.
Where To Buy Boarderie Boards
Boarderie Charcuterie Boards
A huge ingredient variety and plenty of customization options make Boarderie one of our favorite gifts.
You can head over to the Boarderie website for a board of your own. These edible pieces of art cost between $139 and $249, depending on the size and type you choose (the large classic board is $249). It might sound like a lot, but that’s about how much a group of friends might spend on a night out. Now say “cheese!”
FAQ

What happened to Boarderie after Shark Tank?
In case you didn’t know, Boarderie got its start on an episode of Shark Tank, the entrepreneurial investment business reality show. Immediately after the Boarderie episode aired, the brand quickly sold out of its charcuterie boards. Then, over the course of 2022, the company’s sales boomed by a whopping 1,000%, its revenue eclipsing $70 million. Since then, the brand has been a huge success, to say the least.
Are Boarderie boards reusable?
“Boarderie boards are made with high-quality acacia wood and can be saved and reused for repeat grazing,” says Boarderie. “Do not submerge the board underwater, run [it] under a faucet or put [it] in the dishwasher. Use a damp cloth to wipe.”
What is the 3-3-3 rule for charcuterie boards?
This is a suggestion (not a rule) about balancing the ingredients on your charcuterie board. According to this “rule,” any charcuterie board should include three of each: cheeses, meats, starches and accouterments.
