I made this loaded BLT for my sandwich showdown with country singer Russell Dickerson. We named it after his song "B.O.A.T." (which means Best of All Time). It's incredible on Japanese milk bread, but brioche works, too. —Lindsay Ames, The Great American Sandwich Show
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 slices Hokkaido milk bread
- 4 slices Nashville hot turkey
- 6 cooked bacon strips
- Green lettuce leaves
- 4 slices tomato
- 1 medium ripe avocado, peeled and sliced
- SAUCE:
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 2 tablespoons bacon bits
- 2 tablespoons dehydrated lettuce, crushed
- 2 tablespoons dehydrated tomatoes, crushed
Directions
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Toast bread, mayonnaise side down, in a large skillet or electric griddle over medium-low heat until golden brown, 2-3 minutes; remove.
- For sauce, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, bacon bits, dehydrated lettuce and dehydrated tomatoes. Spread onto bread. Layer turkey slices, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Top with remaining bread slices.
