These slow-cooker hot honey barbecue pulled pork sliders are great for weeknight dinners or game-day get-togethers.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 to 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder butt roast
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup hot honey
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 package (12 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • Optional: Sliced pickles, deli coleslaw

Directions

  1. Place sliced onions in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Season pork with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; place on top of onions.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, hot honey, cider vinegar, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture over pork.
  3. Cover and cook on low 9–10 hours, until pork is fork-tender.
  4. Transfer pork to a cutting board and shred with two forks, discarding excess fat. Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir into the sauce until well coated.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, place pork onto slider bottoms. Drizzle with additional hot honey; top with pickles or coleslaw, as desired. Place slider buns on top and serve.
