These slow-cooker hot honey barbecue pulled pork sliders are great for weeknight dinners or game-day get-togethers.
Ingredients
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 3 to 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder butt roast
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup hot honey
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 package (12 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls
- Optional: Sliced pickles, deli coleslaw
Directions
- Place sliced onions in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Season pork with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; place on top of onions.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, hot honey, cider vinegar, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture over pork.
- Cover and cook on low 9–10 hours, until pork is fork-tender.
- Transfer pork to a cutting board and shred with two forks, discarding excess fat. Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir into the sauce until well coated.
- Using a slotted spoon, place pork onto slider bottoms. Drizzle with additional hot honey; top with pickles or coleslaw, as desired. Place slider buns on top and serve.
