Just four standard jam-making ingredients keep our fig jam recipe simple and accessible.
Ingredients
- 4 cups chopped fresh figs
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 package (1-3/4 ounces) powdered fruit pectin
Directions
- Combine the figs and lemon juice in a stockpot; crush figs slightly. Stir in sugar; bring to a full rolling boil. Add pectin; boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from the heat; skim off any foam. Carefully ladle hot mixture into hot half-pint jars, leaving 1/4-in. headspace. Remove air bubbles; wipe rims and adjust lids. Process for 10 minutes in a boiling-water canner.
