This ground pork taco recipe combines savory pork, warm spices and a splash of orange juice for bright, flavorful tacos that come together in a flash.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 pounds ground pork
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 to 2-1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 12 corn tortillas (6 inches)
- Optional toppings: minced onions, minced fresh cilantro, lime wedges, sour cream or crema
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook the meat, green pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the water, orange juice, garlic, salt, cumin, chili powder and cayenne. Simmer, uncovered, until liquid is evaporated, 4-5 minutes.
- Serve in taco shells with toppings of your choice.
