Cinnamon roll butter swim biscuits take the best parts of homemade cinnamon rolls and flaky biscuits and combine them into one easy breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
- CINNAMON DRIZZLE:
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 to 3 tablespoons whole milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 450°. Place butter into a 8-in. square baking pan. Bake until butter has melted, 1-2 minutes. Remove from oven; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon and baking powder; stir in buttermilk just until moistened. Gently press evenly into prepared pan. Score top of biscuits into 9 squares (cleaning knife as needed).
- Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Remove from pan, break or cut into into 9 squares.
- In a small bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, cinnamon and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over biscuits.
