Cinnamon Roll Butter Swim Biscuits

Cinnamon roll butter swim biscuits take the best parts of homemade cinnamon rolls and flaky biscuits and combine them into one easy breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
  • CINNAMON DRIZZLE:
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons whole milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°. Place butter into a 8-in. square baking pan. Bake until butter has melted, 1-2 minutes. Remove from oven; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon and baking powder; stir in buttermilk just until moistened. Gently press evenly into prepared pan. Score top of biscuits into 9 squares (cleaning knife as needed).
  3. Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Remove from pan, break or cut into into 9 squares.
  4. In a small bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, cinnamon and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over biscuits.
