Caramel Apple Crackle Salad

Packed with crisp green apples and sweetened with caramel sauce, this caramel apple crackle salad is made for sharing at fall potlucks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups miniature pretzels, broken into small pieces
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup caramel syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tub (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 4 cups chopped Granny Smith apple
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°. Line a 15x10x1-in. rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, stir together pretzels, pecans and brown sugar. Stir in melted butter to coat. Spread the pretzel mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake 5-8 minutes or until bubbly. Let cool completely on the baking sheet; break apart into pieces.
- In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, caramel syrup and vanilla. Gently fold in whipped topping until incorporated. Fold in apples. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour.
- Just before serving, stir in half the pretzel crunch. Top with the remaining pretzel crunch to serve.
