Bruleed Banana Peanut Butter Pie

Total Time Prep/Total Time: 15 min. + chilling
Yield 8 servings
This bruleed banana peanut butter pie is an ode to my daughter's (and Elvis') favorite sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 6 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 graham cracker crust (9 inches)
  • 3 large bananas, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons turbinado (washed raw) sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in sugar and peanut butter. Gradually add milk. Fold in whipped topping; spoon into crust.
  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Before serving, layer sliced bananas in concentric circles over filling, overlapping to cover all filling. Sprinkle with sugar.
  3. To caramelize topping with a kitchen torch, hold torch flame about 2 in. above surface and rotate it slowly until sugar is evenly caramelized.
  4. To caramelize topping using a broiler, preheat broiler to high. Broil 3-4 in. from heat until sugar is caramelized, 2-3 minutes.
