Fresh blueberries, basil and bourbon create a vibrant blueberry basil smash, perfect for warm-weather happy hours.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fresh blueberries, plus a few for garnish
- 4 to 6 fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
- 1/2 ounce maple syrup
- Ice cubes
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce lemon juice
Directions
- Place blueberries, basil and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker; muddle until well-smashed.
- Add ice, bourbon and lemon juice to the cocktail shaker. Shake until chilled, 15-20 seconds. Without straining, pour shaken cocktail into an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a basil leaf and a few blueberries to serve.
