Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

This banana chocolate chip cake recipe has all the flavors of banana bread but with the moist, fluffy texture of cake.
Ingredients
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
- 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup whole or 2% milk
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease a 13x9-in. baking dish.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until incorporated. Beat in mashed banana.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk in three portions, until the batter is smooth. Stir in 2/3 cup of mini chocolate chips.
- Transfer batter to the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips. Bake 34-38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove to a wire rack to completely cool.
