Total Time Prep: 20 min. Bake: 15 min.
Yield 2 dozen
Whip up these 3-ingredient dog treats, made with apples, rolled oats and peanut butter, in just 15 minutes for a simple homemade snack your pup will love.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sliced apples
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (with no xylitol or added sugar)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Add apple slices and water to a small saucepan. Cover; cook over low-medium heat until apples are soft, 10-15 minutes. Mash with a fork, cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed apples, oats and peanut butter together until well-combined (mixture will be thick and sticky).
  3. Roll into balls. For smaller dogs, use a teaspoon scoop. For larger dogs, use a tablespoon scoop. Refrigerate dough as needed, if too sticky.
  4. Place onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake until firm, about 15 minutes. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze for up to 6 months.
